DES design the Roche Molecular Diagnostics west coast headquarters campus, which includes administrative offices, development labs, pilot facilities and commerical launch facilities for development in the important areas of virology, blood screening, women's health, microbiology and genomics with a foundation built one industry-leading automation platforms and emerging diagnostics. The complete build-out of the 33-acre site incorporates over 500,000 sf of facilities.

The new three story, 135,000 sf research building at Roche completes the north end of the campus and consolidates all of RMD California functions in Pleasanton. The building includes 85,000 of research labs and associated offices including a 750 sf BSL-3 suite. The project aslo included 42,000 sf of general office space on the third floor that allows for projected growth through 2011. The new building also includes campus-amenities in a 145-seat full-service cafeteria and a training center that can accommodate over 200 people. The research groups include Core Chemistry, Core Research, Culture Collection, Human Genetics, Pharmacogenetics, Infectious Diseases, and R&D Services.
