SUGEN

SUGEN is the first laboratory project to register in U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) pilot program for commercial interiors as a tenant in a developer-owned building. This is the first project of its kind to be awarded LEED Gold Certification.

SUGEN, a pioneering biopharmaceutical company, was growing its campus in South San Francisco. DES provided architectural and interior design services for the renovation of two existing buildings and created state of the art lab and office interiors for a new third building. Initial program validation and strategic planning identified the expansion requirements for the entire project, specific facility moves and a schedule that would present the least amount of impact on user groups.
