Sippl Macdonald Ventures is a private venture capital partnership providing investment and management support to early stage and emerging software companies. For their tenant improvement, glass is used throughout with layering of various planes of opaque and transparent to maximize available light and create a sense of space. A larger grid of gunmetal blue anodized aluminum and a smaller offset grid of clear anodized aluminum add interest.
The space features a sky-lit boardroom anchoring the center, five private offices at the sides and built-in filing. The boardroom is surrounded by a six-foot wall lined with glass to optimize available natural light. It features opposing walls of vertical grained Douglas Fir and Venetian plaster, with a cantilevered polished white Calcutta marble counter. The changing light quality throughout the day reflects the soft sage colors and subtle material textures, creating an ever-changing interaction of details.
