Menlo Park, CA

Flexibility was key in the design of BillionToOne’s new R&D workplace. The growing genetic testing company’s mission—saving lives, one molecule at a time— is visible throughout, from gathering spaces and corridors to R&D labs. Keeping the space adaptable for future growth and expansion, ceiling service panels throughout the labs allow for easy reconfiguration of modules and equipment. In the same spirit, the free-flowing office spaces support and wrap around the labs, ranging from large open desking areas to private banquettes and brainstorming nooks. A central break area and bar serve as a natural focal point and gathering zone, with an undulating wooden helix screening the dining area from the open office. Expansive and energetic, BillionToOne’s new R&D workplace supports their entrepreneurial culture and rapid growth.
