2747 Park Blvd.

Steps from Caltrain, 2747 Park Blvd. is a transit-oriented R&D building that contributes to the ongoing transformation of Palo Alto’s California Avenue downtown. To activate the newly widened sidewalks, valuable outdoor spaces were placed on all sides of the building including a central oak tree patio that provides a significant space for users to enjoy the pleasant climate. The building’s natural stone base, mass articulation, and active streetscape make it a warm addition. Addressing its location on a prominent corner, the R&D building has a light, curvilinear mass at the Park and Sheridan intersection, creating interest and a sense of motion across the street fronts. The continuous roof overhang and double-layered sunshades accent this corner gesture while also unifying the architectural masses and providing shading for the southwest facade.
