Around-the-clock work was carried out to get Takeda into their space on time. We carefully tracked and quickly communicated issues, and client representatives made real-time decisions while connecting long-distance with Japan and Chicago. A contractor was brought on board early in the project for material procurement and scheduling. DES designed an integrated lab and office space in addition to revamping Takeda’s North American furniture standards and refreshing their colors. The open labs were equipped with tech desks for smooth transition from research to touchdown administration. A flexible all-hands meeting space, along with a cafeteria, meeting rooms, and training spaces, help create a top-notch research center that will attract and retain elite talent.
DES’s leadership and professionalism in directing the actions and execution of the design and construction teams were instrumental in the delivery of a project that not only met our requirements, but ultimately resulted in a “state of the art” biotech facility."
